Description
Despite the name, Tulip Poplar is not a poplar, but is a member of the magnolia family. It is a deciduous tree that may grow 90-120 feet tall.
Leaves
Leaves are large, tulip-shaped, with smooth margins and 3 main lobes. Bright green with paler undersides.
Flowers
Cup shaped, upright, fragrant yellow flowers with 6 green to yellow petals in 2 rows with an orange center that somewhat resembles a tulip.
